Play by Yourself: Single Player and Quick Practice

If you want to practice or play when your regular group is not available, Friends at Mahjong gives you an always-ready digital table.

Single Player

In single-player mode you play American Mah Jongg against three computer-controlled opponents. This lets you:

  • Practice reading the card
  • Work on your decision-making
  • Get more experience with different hands and situations

Free games are one hand; members can choose longer games.

Quick Practice

Quick Practice is a faster practice environment for when you want to work on your game without committing to a full multiplayer session. It is designed to help you get more repetitions and build confidence.

Friends at Mahjong supports private multiplayer tables so you can play remotely with friends.

Depending on your membership level, you can:

  • Join friends at private tables
  • Host your own private table
  • Invite friends to your table with a link

  • Use voice chat where available

This makes it possible to keep a regular Mah Jongg group together even when you cannot meet in person.

Make the Table Feel Like Yours

The central idea behind Friends at Mahjong is:

Same game. Your look.

A complete table theme can include:

  • Mat
  • Tiles
  • Racks

Depending on your membership level, you can:

  • Choose from Friends at Mahjong table designs
  • Build your own personalized table theme in the customization studio
  • Save your theme and use it again in future games

The Shop lets you buy additional digital cosmetic items, such as:

  • Tile sets
  • Mah Jongg mats
  • Racks

These are digital in-game designs, not physical merchandise. Shop items are associated with your account and are bought once and usable on every table you play at both Friends at Mahjong and Mahjong Lexington. This portability applies to Shop items, not memberships.

Membership = how you play. Shop = how your table looks.
